Sioux City, IA – UPDATE: David VanWhye Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Lewis Blvd
Sioux City, IA (August 14, 2021) – Officials have released the identity of the man who was killed following a motorcycle crash in Sioux City on Thursday, August 13.
The fatal accident reportedly occurred at the 2400 block of Lewis Boulevard that morning at around 11:10 a.m. According to local reports, a semi-truck was headed southbound on the roadway when it stopped near Northbrook Drive to make a left turn. It was then that the truck was hit by a motorcyclist.
The rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as 59-year-old David VanWhye. At this time, no further updates on the accident have been provided.
