Tipton, IA – Critical Injuries in Semi-Truck Collision at IA-38 & 265th St
Tipton, IA (May 21, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in the Tipton area left two people injured on Wednesday, May 19.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred near the crossing of IA-38 and 265th Street at around 2:15 p.m. Local reports revealed that a Freightliner semi was traveling southbound on the highway when it collided with a Toyota Avalon. Emergency responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties.
Both drivers sustained injuries in the impact. The driver of the Toyota suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The operator of the semi was taken by ambulance to UIHC for the treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local authorities.
