Indianola, IA – Dana Wylie Hit by Semi-Truck at US-59 & Trail Ridge Ave
Indianola, IA (August 28, 2021) – A person was airlifted to a hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Indianola on Friday, August 27.
The incident occurred at the crossing of US-59 and Trail Ridge Avenue. Local authorities were called to the scene at around 8 a.m. that morning. According to local reports, 47-year-old Jason Verba of Indianola was operating a 2018 Kenworth dump truck and traveling on the highway.
Verba reportedly entered the intersection with a yellow light. At that time, 61-year-old Dana Wylie of Des Moines was driving a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. While Wylie was making a left turn onto Trail Ridge Avenue, she was hit in the passenger side by the dump truck. Wylie was taken to a local hospital in Des Moines for treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local officials.
