Alton, IA – Kayleen Stallman Injured in Trucking Accident on IA-60
Alton, IA (September 18, 2021) – A fiery car crash in the Alton area on Thursday, September 16, resulted in the injury of a Denison woman.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at around 5:20 p.m. Emergency responders were called to the scene on IA-60 north of Alton. Local reports revealed that a 2021 Peterbilt semi-truck operated by 38-year-old Michael Nelson of Crescent was pulling a cattle-trailer and traveling northbound on the highway.
The truck slowed to make a left turn onto 440th Street. It was then that the commercial vehicle collided with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 37-year-old Kayleen Stallman of Denison. The impact caused the minivan to catch fire. Stallman was taken to Orange City Area Health before being airlifted to MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
