Albany, IA – Katherine Showers Killed in Truck Accident on IA-136
Albany, IA (May 19, 2021) – A deadly head-on crash involving a semi-truck outside of Albany resulted in the death of an Oskaloosa woman on Saturday, May 15.
Initial reports indicated that the fatal accident occurred on IA-136 late that night. A vehicle driven by 59-year-old Katherine Showers of Oskaloosa was traveling westbound on the highway while a commercial vehicle operated by 49-year-old Marvin Anderson of Gilman City was traveling east. The two vehicles collided head-on.
Showers sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash. Both vehicles were totaled following the impact. The semi was affiliated with Kenworth Day Cab.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly 18-wheeler collision is being managed by local authorities.
