Trucking Accidents in Iowa
Large trucks deliver the majority of commodities throughout the country, and the sheer size of these big vehicles may threaten individuals in passenger cars on the highway. According to national collision statistics, smaller car occupants are more likely than larger car occupants to suffer life-threatening injuries in an accident, and these events are known to be deadly. Every year, there are over 500,000 transportation accidents, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries.
It is risky to drive behind massive semi-trucks and tractor-trailers, which is why many Iowa drivers are afraid whenever they pass an 18-wheeler or other commercial truck on the highway. Every year, a substantial number of people are killed or injured in commercial vehicle incidents, with passengers and drivers of passenger cars accounting for the vast majority of those killed or injured. Despite the fact that all drivers are required to follow the same set of rules, operating a very large rig requires a higher level of knowledge and experience. Truck drivers who lack the necessary abilities to manage such enormous vehicles run the risk of causing catastrophic Iowa trucking accidents, which all too often result in the death or injury of innocent persons.
The weight and gravity of these massive vehicles can cause life-altering injuries in the event of an accident, and semi-truck-related fatalities have been gradually increasing across the country in recent years. We at the Lombardi Law Firm recognize that semi-truck accident injuries can result in long-term care and life-altering mental and physical hardship for victims.
