Hazleton, IA – Worker Fatally Electrocuted on South Street W

Hazleton, IA (September 17, 2021) – On Wednesday, September 15, a man was killed after being electrocuted while trimming trees in the Hazleton area. 

Local authorities revealed that the incident occurred that morning at around 10:45 a.m. The victim was working at a residence located at the 200 block of South Street W. at the time of the accident. According to initial reports, the man was using a boom lift in order to cut down a tree. 

It was then that the victim came into contact with a power line. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the identity of the deceased party has not been disclosed. No further updates have been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
