Guttenberg, IA – Judy Puls Fatally Hit by School Bus at Herder St & 2nd St

Guttenberg, IA (September 24, 2021) – A woman was killed after being hit by a school bus in Guttenberg on Thursday morning, September 23. 

The deadly accident took place at the crossing of Herder Street and 2nd Street at around 7:50 a.m. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the school bus was making a turn onto 2nd Street at hte time of the crash. The bus hit 66-year-old Judy Puls of Guttenberg.

Puls suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were students on board the bus at the time of the incident. No other injuries were reported. The area was closed for several hours while paramedics were present. 

An ongoing investigation into the fatal pedestrian accident is being managed by local authorities.
