Clarke Co, IA – Injuries in Fatal Train Accident on Level B Rd
Clarke Co, IA (May 28, 2021) – Two juveniles were killed and two others injured after a train accident in Clarke County on Thursday, May 27.
The deadly incident was reported at around 4:30 p.m. that night, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Local reports revealed that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck containing four juvenile occupants was traveling on Level B Road near Kansas Street and 160th Avenue at the time of impact. The pickup was reportedly struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train outside of Murray.
Of the four occupants, two were declared dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being handled by local authorities.
