Des Moines, IA – Update: Lyndell Brown Dies in Crash with Semi on MLK Pkwy
Des Moines, IA (November 6, 2021) – The identity of the man killed in a head-on crash with a semi-truck in Des Moines Friday, November 5, has been released by authorities. The fatal collision occurred on Martin Luther King Parkway near Prospect Road at around 12:56 p.m.
Local authorities reported that a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix and a 2015 Freightliner semi box-truck crashed just south of the intersection. The driver of the Pontiac, 42-year-old Lyndell Lamont Brown of Des Moines, was killed in the accident. Two passengers in the vehicle were hospitalized for the treatment of serious injuries.
The two vehicles reportedly crashed head-on after the Pontiac crossed the centerline. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
