Oelwein, IA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck at American Legion on 1st St SW
Oelwein, IA (May 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit in a parking lot in Oelwein on Tuesday, May 11.
The deadly accident occurred at the American Legion located at the 100 block of 1st Street SW. At around 6 p.m. that night, a 54-year-old was in the parking lot of the building when he was hit by an SUV. First responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the injured pedestrian.
The man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim has not been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the fatal crash is underway, and more information will be provided as it continues.
