Waterloo, IA – Louise Brown Injured in Ambulance Crash at Sergeant Rd & 3rd St
Waterloo, IA (May 5, 2021) – There were reported injuries following a two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance in the Waterloo area on Saturday, May 1.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Sergeant Road and 3rd Street at around 3 p.m. that afternoon. Initial reports indicated that a Traer ambulance driven by 55-year-old Marnie Edgerly was transporting a patient to UnityPoint-Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo at the time of the impact. Its lights were activated as it traveled north on Sergeant Road.
The ambulance reportedly had a red light at the intersection. The emergency vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Equinox driven by 53-year-old Louise Denise Brown of Waterloo. The crash caused the Equinox to overturn. Brown was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
