According to the Iowa State Patrol three minor teenagers were either killed or seriously injured in an accident on June 9, 2024 at 9:22 PM. A 2004 Toyota Camry Solara lost control, entered the ditch, overturned and then vaulted over a driveway. It continued to overturn and ejected two of the three occupants. One of the teenagers was taken by ground ambulance to Blank Hospital in Des Moines. Another, 15 year old was life flighted to Mercy Hospital and a third 15-year old was taken by ground ambulance to Mercy Hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.

The accident location is Delaware Street and 200th Avenue. Google maps has the location west of Hartford and northeast of Palmyra. It is a T-intersection. The Toyota was northbound on 200th Avenue.

6.13 Knoxville, IA (June 13, 2021) - A three-vehicle collision resulted in two fatalities in the Knoxville area on Saturday, June 12. The deadly crash was reported on IA-14 near Highway G44, south of the Mile Long Bridge, at around 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. Initial sources indicated that a vehicle was rear-ended on the roadway, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with a motorcycle. The two riders were pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased parties were later identified as 74-year-old Lloyd Hedrick and 60-year-old Lisa Wilmes. Both drivers of the other vehicles were injured, along with an unidentified passenger. All three were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further updates have been provided at this time. An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
