Rock Valley, IA – James Boogerd Hit on ATV at US-18 & Westview Dr
Rock Valley, IA (October 19, 2021) – A local man was injured after being hit while riding an ATV in Rock Valley on Monday, October 18.
The accident occurred at the intersection of US-18 and Westview Drive. Emergency responders were sent to the scene at around 3:15 p.m. that afternoon. Local authorities reported that 73-year-old James Boogerd of Rock Valley was riding a 2014 Polaris UTV northbound at the time of the crash.
Broogerd was struck by a westbound 2000 Buick LeSabre, driven by 61-year-old Lori Ann Davelaar of Hudson, South Dakota. The rider was ejected from the ATV due to the impact. Boogered was transported to Hegg Health for the treatment of serious injuries.
An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
