New Virginia, IA (October 24, 2021) – Local authorities have released the identity of the man killed in a pedestrian crash in New Virginia on Friday, October 22.
The incident occurred on Interstate 35. Late that night, 69-year-old Steven Kohli hit a deer on the roadway. When he exited his vehicle to inspect the damage, he was hit by an oncoming pickup truck.
Kohli sustained fatal injuries in the impact. He was later pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. No further updates have been made public at this time.
