Franklin Co, IA – One Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on I-35 near Mile 165
Franklin Co, IA (August 7, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash in Franklin County on Interstate 35 ended in a fatality on Friday, August 6.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the fatal accident took place at around 3:15 p.m. that day. Local sources revealed that a 2019 Chevrolet Trax was traveling northbound at the time of the accident. The vehicle reportedly crashed head-on with a southbound semi-truck. Paramedics were called to the site following the impact.
The incident caused the Chevy to leave the roadway and enter a ditch, where it caught fire. At least one person was killed in the accident. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed at this time. The area was closed while emergency personnel were present.
