Fort Dodge, IA – James Altman Intentionally Struck by Edwin Brown in Pedestrian Crash
Fort Dodge, IA (May 11, 2021) – A man was injured after being intentionally struck by a driver on Saturday, May 8.
The pedestrian accident occurred that night. Initial reports indicated that 52-year-old Edwin E. Brown hit 57-year-old James L. Altman with his vehicle. Emergency responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the injured party. Altman was found lying on the roadway when paramedics arrived.
Altman was taken to Unity Point Fort Dodge for the treatment of sustained injuries and then transferred to a hospital in the Des Moines area. Brown fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities. He is currently facing charges for attempted murder, willful serious injury, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
