Fonda, IA – Infant Injured in Collision with Semi on Co Hwy N28
Fonda, IA (October 18, 2021) – Two people were injured, including an infant, following a two-vehicle accident in Fonda on Friday, October 15.
The accident took place on County Highway N28 that evening. At around 2:15 p.m., 28-year-old Heidi Tuerck of Fonda was traveling south on the roadway in a Ford FOC. The vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with an 18-wheeler hauling soybeans.
The pickup came to stop in the east ditch after the impact. Tuerck was airlifted to Pocahontas Hospital for treatment. An infant in her vehicle was treated at the scene by paramedics. The occupants of the semi were also treated and released by medical personnel.
Local authorities are handling the ongoing crash investigation at this time.
