Dike, IA – Jon Espenscheid Killed in Golf-Cart Crash on Country Club Ln
Dike, IA (May 20, 2021) – A man operating a golf cart was killed following a collision in Dike on Saturday, May 15.
The deadly accident occurred at the 300 block of Country Club Lane at around 12:49 p.m. Local reports revealed that 56-year-old Jon Espenscheid was driving across the roadway in a golf cart in order to enter a golf course. It was at that time that Espencheid was hit by a southbound SUV.
Espenscheid sustained critical injuries and was taken to Sartori Hospital before being transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. He was later pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. No other injuries were reported.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is currently underway.
