DeWitt, IA – June McWilliams Injured in Car Accident on US-61 near Mile 135
DeWitt, IA (June 15, 2021) – On Sunday, June 13, a single-vehicle crash in DeWitt resulted in a driver and two passengers being injured.
Local reports revealed that 63-year-old June A. McWilliams of Lynn Center, Illinois was driving a 2012 Volvo T5 northbound on US-61 at the time of the accident. At around 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 134, McWilliams reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel. The vehicle proceeded to veer into the median where it crashed into a culvert.
McWilliams and her two juvenile passengers were injured in the collision. They were all transported by ambulance to Genesis DeWitt for the treatment of sustained injuries. McWilliams was charged with failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
