Des Moines, IA – Jerry Coles, Kristy Hyde Killed in Motorcycle Accident at E 14th St & Washington Ave
Des Moines, IA (May 7, 2021) – A 29-year-old Des Moines man faces multiple charges after allegedly causing a crash that killed two motorcyclists and seriously injured another on Tuesday evening.
The crash, which involved two motorcycles and a vehicle, occurred after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East 14th Street and Washington Avenue. Police said 51-year-old Jerry Coles and 47-year-old Kristy Hyde both died in the accident. Stacey Coles-Behle, 46, survived the accident but sustained serious injuries. On Friday, Des Moines police announced charges in the case and said 29-year-old Quntonio Herron is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle and driving while his license was suspended.
Herron is being held in the Polk County Jail, and police said the crash remains under investigation.
