Des Moines, IA – House Fires on 13th St in Evelyn Park Ends in Injuries

Des Moines, IA (September 4, 2021) – Firefighters in Des Moines were dispatched to a residential fire in the city on Thursday evening, September 2. 

The incident occurred at a residence located at the 1300 block of 13th Street in the Evelyn Park neighborhood. The call came in at around 10 p.m. that evening. Flames were observed shooting from the roof of the house by local witnesses. 

Responding officials were able to put the fire out by around 10:25 p.m. At this time, the extent and number of resulting injuries have not yet been confirmed. The identities of the wounded parties have not been released by local officials. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. Additional details will be released as the inquiry continues.
