Des Moines, IA – Car Crash at Thompson Ave & 14th St Ends in Fatality

Des Moines, IA (September 28, 2021) – A vehicle collision in Des Moines on Monday, September 27, resulted in a fatality. 

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Thompson Avenue and E. 14th Street. Local authorities were notified of the incident at around 5:30 p.m. A total of four vehicles were involved in the collision. 

Initial reports revealed that speeding and reckless driving were significant factors in the crash. A 19-year-old Christopher Paul Griffiths was reportedly killed in the accident. A 20-year-old Des Moines woman was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. No further updates have been revealed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the deadly collision is underway.
