Des Moines Co, IA – Dale Webb Dies in Motorcycle Crash on US-34
Des Moines Co, IA (August 23, 2021) – A two-vehicle accident in Des Moines County on Sunday, August 22, ended in the death of a West Burlington man.
Reports from the Iowa State Patrol indicated that 87-year-old Dale Webb of West Burlington was riding a motorcycle eastbound on US-34 at the time of the crash. At around 4:20 p.m. that afternoon, Webb’s bike was hit from behind by a pickup truck operated by 37-year-old Patrick Robinson. The impact caused Robinson’s vehicle to leave the roadway before coming to a stop on the shoulder.
The motorcyclist also left the road and entered a nearby ditch. The rider was ejected from the bike and sustained life-threatening injuries. Webb was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional where he was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local authorities.
