Cedar Rapids, IA – Multiple Injuries in Pileup Crash on IA-13
Cedar Rapids, IA (June 25, 2021) – A multi-vehicle accident in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, June 23, resulting in several injuries.
Local reports indicated that the collision occurred on IA-13 in the area of Bertram Road and Summit View Lane. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at around 5:21 p.m. Responding officials discovered that a driver rear-ended two vehicles due to slowing traffic on the highway.
The rear driver and their passenger were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for the treatment of sustained injuries. The driver and passenger of one of the struck vehicles were transported to Mercy Hospital. The rear driver was cited for failure to stop to avoid a collision and failure to maintain a safe distance.
