Cedar Falls, IA – Timothy Hersey Found Dead After Fire on W 1st St
Cedar Falls, IA (September 23, 2021) – On Wednesday, September 22, a house fire in Cedar Falls left one man dead.
The incident was reported early that morning at around 4 a.m. Firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire at the 616 block of W. 1st Street south of the Cedar River. When responders arrived, the kitchen was found fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to enter the home and extinguish the blaze. Emergency crews located 62-year-old Timothy Hersey dead inside the residence. The cause of the death has not yet been determined.
The factors contributing to the fire are being investigated by local law enforcement officials.
