Boyden, IA – Victor Casias Hospitalized in Crash at 320th St & Kennedy Ave
Boyden, IA (October 9, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash in Boyden on Thursday, October 7, resulted in the hospitalization of a Sheldon man.
The incident was reported that day at around 4:30 p.m. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office revealed that two cars collided at the intersection of 320th Street and Kennedy Avenue. Local reports indicated that 36-year-old Victor Casias of Sheldon was traveling northbound on US-18 when he was involved in a crash with a backhoe.
Casias had to be extricated from his mini-van by responding emergency personnel. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. The operator of the backhoe, 52-year-old Michael Doorenbos of Boyden, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
