Cedar Rapids, IA – Charles Yochem Dies in Rollover Accident on I-380 Ramp
Cedar Rapids, IA (July 7, 2021) – On Monday, July 5, a rollover crash in Cedar Rapids ended in fatal injuries.
The fatal accident reportedly occurred on the Interstate 380 off-ramp to US-30 near the time of 3:25 p.m. that afternoon. Three people were reportedly traveling in a vehicle when it overturned. Both the driver and front seat passengers were ejected from the car. The third occupant remained in the backseat during the crash.
The driver, Charles Ryan Yochecm of La Porte, was flown to a local hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. The front seat passenger, Deanna Marie Fugate, was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for serious injuries in serious condition. The third passenger, Jasmine Keister, was also injured and hospitalized for treatment.
An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
