Stockton, IA – Worker Killed in Manure Tank Accident at Sievers Family Farm
Stockton, IA (June 11, 2021) – On Tuesday, June 8, a man was killed after he became trapped in a manure tank while working at a farm in the Stockton area.
The site of the deadly incident was located at the Sievers Family Farm at the 26618 block of 20th Avenue. Emergency response crews were dispatched to the scene early that morning at around 10 a.m. Local reports indicated that the deceased party was performing work-related duties in the tank at the time of the accident.
Volunteer EMS officials were at the farm for the majority of the day providing aid to the injured party. With the help of reinforcements from a local fire department, they were able to extricate the man from the tank that evening. The man was later pronounced dead, and his identity has not been disclosed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the fatal workplace incident is being handled by local authorities.
