Oelwein, IA – UPDATE: Jacqueline Lensing Killed in Crash on 1st St
Oelwein, IA (May 14, 2021) – The identity of the woman killed in a pedestrian accident in Oelwein on Tuesday, May 11, has been released by local officials.
It was later revealed that 54-year-old Jacqueline K. Lensing of Oelwein was crouching near a parked Ford Explorer in the parking lot of the American Legion on 1st Street SW. At around 6 p.m., she was reportedly hit by the vehicle as it pulled out of the parking spot. First responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the injured party.
The driver of the vehicle, 72-year-old Richard Nissen of Oelwein, was uninjured. Lensing sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. No further information has been provided at this time.
An investigation into the cause of the deadly pedestrian crash is underway.
