Sumner, IA – Failure to Yield Ends in Injury Crash at V Ave & IA-93

Sumner, IA (October 6, 2021) – On Monday, October 4, there were confirmed injuries in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash in Sumner. 

The incident occurred near the intersection of V Avenue and IA-93. Officials from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene at around 5 a.m. that morning. Local sources revealed that a northbound 2005 Chrysler Pacifica failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection. 

The vehicle was then hit by an oncoming 2004 Ford F-550 pickup truck. The two-vehicles entered a ditch, and the truck overturned. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
