Sioux City, IA – UPDATE: Eduardo Guerrero-Sanchez Charged in DUI Crash on I-29
Sioux City, IA (July 20, 2021) – A local man has been taken into custody in connection with a multi-vehicle collision on Friday, July 16, in Sioux City.
Local authorities revealed that 24-year-old Eduardo Guerrero-Sanchez of Sioux City was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 at the time of the crash. Guerrero-Sanchez reportedly crashed head-on. The woman driving the other car and her sole occupant, her daughter, both suffered serious injuries in the impact.
The initial crash led to another accident when the vehicle was rear-ended, and the occupants of that car were also injured. Reports from the scene revealed that Guerrero-Sanchez showed signs of intoxication and smelled like alcohol, and he was arrested and charged by law enforcement officials for operating under the influence two counts of serious injury by vehicle.
