Sioux Center, IA – South Dakota Teen Injured at Dogwood Ave & 380th St
Sioux Center, IA (August 10, 2021) – On Saturday, August 7, a two-vehicle collision outside of Sioux Center resulted in the injury of a South Dakota teenager.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 16-year-old from Corsica, South Dakota was headed northbound in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix on Dogwood Avenue. At the same time, a 2013 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by 45-year-old J. Cruz Gonzales was traveling eastbound on 380th Street.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection. The teen driver was transported to Sioux Center Health for the treatment of sustained injuries. Gonzales was charged by authorities for failure to yield and driving without a valid driver’s license. The area was closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the incident has been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
