Matlock, IA – Gabriela Ahuatzi Injured in Two-Car Crash at 280th St & Lily Ave
Matlock, IA (November 16, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash in Matlock left both drivers with injuries on Saturday afternoon, November 13. The accident took place at the intersection of 280th Street and Lily Avenue at around 3:05 p.m.
Local reports revealed that 27-year-old Ashely Swets of Hull was traveling westbound in a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. At the same time, 33-year-old Gabriela Ahuatzi of Le Mars was driving northbound in a 2010 Subaru Outback. Ahuatzi reportedly stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection.
Both vehicles collided soon after. Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. Ahuatzi was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
An ongoing accident investigation is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
