Mason City, IA – Fatal Two-Car Accident on S Federal Ave
Mason City, IA (July 26, 2021) – On Saturday, July 24, one driver was killed and another was injured in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash in Mason City.
The deadly accident occurred at the 3500 block of S. Federal Avenue early that morning at around 6:30 a.m. A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Hampton resident collided with another car operated by 30-year-old Joanna Gautier of Charles City. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to render aid to the injured parties.
One of the drivers suffered fatal injuries, while the other was transported to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center for treatment. At this time, it has not been confirmed which driver was killed in the impact. No further updates on the accident have been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by the Iowa State Patrol.
