Marion, IA – Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-&-Run on US-151
Marion, IA (August 19, 2021) – On Wednesday, August 18, a motorcyclist suffered injuries after a two-vehicle crash in the Marion area.
The accident occurred on US-151 near marker 40 at around 3:27 p.m. A motorcycle was traveling northbound on the highway as 19-year-old Mattie Arman of Anamosa was headed north in a Pontiac Grand Prix. Arman rear-ended the motorcyclist, causing the rider to be ejected and hit the pavement.
The injured rider was transported to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Arman reportedly fled the scene and continued northbound on US-151. She later turned herself in to authorities. She was cited for multiple counts, including reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.
An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local authorities.
