Linn Co, IA – Wayne Myhre Injured in Three-Semi Crash at US-151 & Wendling Ln
Linn Co, IA (September 23, 2021) – Three truck drivers were involved in a collision in Linn County on Wednesday morning, September 22.
The crash reportedly took place near the crossing of US-151 and Wendling Lane, southeast of Springfield. Local officials were notified of the crash at around 7 a.m. that morning. Initial reports indicated that 60-year-old Michael Lacourciere of Morton, Illinois was hauling an oversized load while traveling westbound on the highway.
Lacourciere failed to notice that a construction site reduced the road to a single lane. He stopped the semi on the roadway and started to back up. This caused westbound traffic to come to standstill.
This resulted in an 18-wheeler operated by 60-year-old Gary Schulte of New Vienna to rear-end another semi, driven by 64-year old Wayne Myhre of Bloomington, Wisconsin. A third semi-truck operated by 64-year old Ronald Fagan of Onslow was also involved.
Myhre was hospitalized for treatment. Schulte was cited by local authorities. An ongoing investigation is underway.
We wish the injured parties a speedy recovery. If we can assist with the recovery, please contact the firm.
