Granite, IA – Gregory Johnson Injured in Rear-End Crash at Adams Ave & 140th St
Granite, IA (June 29, 2021) – There were confirmed injuries in the aftermath of a two-car collision in the Granite area on Wednesday, June 23.
The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Adams Avenue and 140th Street at around 10 p.m. that evening. Local reports indicated that 21-year-old Shayla Post of Sioux Center was traveling west in a 2008 Mercury Mariner when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The driver of the Corvette, 68-year-old Gregory Johnson, had reportedly slowed down due to a deer that entered the roadway.
Johnson’s vehicle left the roadway where it crashed into a ditch. Post vehicle soon followed, entering the ditch and coming to a stop next to the Corvette. Johnson and his passenger were transported by ambulance to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for treatment. The resulting damage to his vehicle was valued at roughly $70,000.
An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local authorities, and more details will be provided as it continues.
