Clinton, IA – Mary Young Injured in Crash at Gibney Rd & Clinton Rd
Clinton, IA (May 14, 2021) – A Palo woman was injured after being struck by a motor vehicle in the Clinton area on Thursday morning, May 13.
The pedestrian accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Gibney Road and Clinton Road at around 7 a.m. that morning. According to local sources, 65-year-old Mary Young of Palo was crossing on the roadway when she was struck. Initial reports revealed that 23-year-old Jeffrey Martin of Palo ran a stop sign when he hit Young.
Young was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further updates on her condition have been provided. Charges are currently pending.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
