Cedar Rapids, IA – Driver Injured in Trucking Accident on I-380

Cedar Rapids, IA (October 1, 2021) – On Thursday, September 30, a motorist was injured after being involved in a crash with a semi-truck in the Cedar Rapids area.

The incident was reported early that morning at around 1:40 a.m. The scene was located on Interstate 380 SB north of 7th Street. A 23-year-old man was driving on the highway when they collided with an 18-wheeler. 

The driver was the sole occupant of the car. The victim had to be extricated from the vehicle by first responders. The semi-truck was also significantly damaged in the impact. The wounded party was taken to UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.
