Breda, IA – Tamie Dawn Ryken Injured in Two-Car Crash on US-71
Breda, IA (May 21, 2021) – On Tuesday, May 18, a two-vehicle collision in the Breda area resulted in serious injuries.
The incident occurred at around 2:28 p.m. that afternoon on US-71. The Iowa State Patrol revealed that 27-year-old Darion Dru Bradley of Arcadia was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango south on the highway. Bradley reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel, colliding with a southbound 1999 Pontiac Firebird near the intersection with 110th Street.
Bradley left the roadway and overturned multiple times, hitting a utility pole. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The driver of the Pontiac, 46-year-old Tamie Dawn Ryken of Auburn, was treated at the scene.
Bradley was cited for failure to maintain control. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
Our thoughts are Tamie Dawn Ryken, Darion Dru Bradley, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
