Black Hawk Co, IA (July 4, 2021) – A New York woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal car accident in Black Hawk County that was initially reported on Thursday, July 1
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of the deadly collision at around 12:30 p.m. The deceased party, 32-year-old Skyler Click of New York, was traveling as the passenger in a westbound vehicle operated by 23-year-old Shayla Decker of Aurora. Decker reportedly failed to yield at the intersection of Cedar Wapsi Road and N. Raymond Road, causing the vehicle to be struck by an oncoming SUV.
Click sustained fatal injuries in the impact and was later pronounced dead. Decker was transported to a medical facility in Waterloo for the treatment of sustained injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 64-year-old Susan Schnadt of Sumner, was also injured and taken to a nearby hospital. At this time, no further updates have been made available.
The ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local officials.
