Allamakee Co, IA – John Thein Killed in Motorcycle Crash on CR X26
Allamakee Co, IA (September 6, 2021) – A Guttenberg man was killed after being hit on a motorcycle in Allamakee County on Friday, September 4.
The fatal accident took place on County Road X26 early that morning. According to local reports, 69-year-old Andrew Wolfe of Harpers Ferry was headed southbound in a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling a trailer filled with kayaks. At the same time, 76-year-old John Thein of Guttenberg was headed northbound on a 1995 Harley Davidson.
A kayak came loose from the trailer and became airborne. It crashed into Thein, causing an accident. Thein sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. No further information has been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
