Iowa UTV Accident Claims Two Lives

Iowa ATV and UTV personal injury accidents.

Dubuque County, Iowa – Another UTV accident in northeastern Iowa has claimed the lives of two people; one a child. Fatal accidents like this have become more common since the Iowa legislature passed Iowa Code Chapter 321I.10 and 321.234A.

The actual location of this collision appears from news reports to be E. Worthington Road and Comer Road in Farley, Iowa. If you view this rural intersection on Google Maps and use the street view, you’ll see East Worthington is a long flat paved rural highway. The posted speed limit is 55 MPH.

Accident: August 10, 2026 at approximately 9:15 to 9:30 PM. According to the KMCH 4.7 report “Six people were found with serious to life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital…” Two died. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s office handled the accident scene along with the Peosta Police Department, Cascade EMS, Dyersville Bi-County Ambulance, Farley Fire Department, Farley EMS, Epworth Fire, Epworth EMS and Worthington Fire Department.

Get More Information: I have previously posted on the Lombardi Law Firm website about ATV, UTV and other higher risk vehicle accidents. Add an ATV to the streets and highways and the risk increases. Add after-dark or at dusk or at sunrise, and the odds of an accident with serious injuries or death increases dramatically.

Like wrong-way highway accidents the risks increase exponentially if alcohol is involved with anyone operating the vehicles.  I have not read the reports by law enforcement and am not suggesting that alcohol may have been involved. I am not suggesting that at all. But, the higher risks along with the other risk factors do come into play with many roadway accidents.
