Delaware Co, IA – Two Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash at 220th Ave & 250th St
Delaware Co, IA (August 15, 2021) – A Wisconsin man and an Iowa woman were injured following a motorcycle accident in Delaware County on Saturday, August 14.
The accident reportedly occurred near the crossing of 220th Avenue and 250th Street late that night at around 6:40 p.m. The Iowa State Patrol later revealed that two people were riding a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle at the time of the crash. The vehicle was reportedly traveling north on 220th Avenue.
The operator of the bike, 57-year-old Thomas J. Hermsen of Kieler, Wisconsin, lost control of the vehicle after failing to yield at the intersection. This caused both Hermsen and another passenger, 54-year-old Marleen M. Goodin of Dubuque, to be ejected from the motorcycle. Both parties were transferred to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing crash investigation is currently being managed by local law enforcement officials. As the inquiry develops, additional details will be provided.
