Rock Springs, IA – Brent Johnson Injured in Collision at IA-9 & Indian Ave
Rock Springs, IA (August 9, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash in the Rock Springs area on Monday, August 9, resulted in confirmed injuries.
Reports from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident took place near the crossing of IA-9 and Indian Avenue. Early that morning, Brent Johnson of Estherville was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on the highway at the time of impact. It was then that a 2011 Chevrolet pickup operated by Kaleb Kuyper of Rock Valley failed to yield at the intersection.
Kuyper entered the crossroad at a high rate of speed, crashing into Johnson’s truck. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and came to a stop in the southeast corner of the intersection. Kuyper was cited by authorities for failure to yield the right of way. The occupants of both vehicles sustained injuries in the crash.
