Percival, IA – Four Injured After Head-On Collision on I-29
Percival, IA (October 12, 2021) – On Sunday, October 10, four people were injured following a head-on crash in Percival.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that the accident took place in Fremont County on Interstate 29. Emergency responders arrived at the scene at around 1:20 a.m. that morning. Authorities revealed that 19-year-old Mateo Zaragoza of Overland Park, Kansas was headed south in a 2018 Honda Civic at the time of the crash.
The vehicle exited the roadway and crossed into the northbound lanes. The vehicle crashed head-on with a 2010 GMC Yukon driven by 40-year-old Rebecca Harris of Lincoln. The drivers were taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. Two other passengers involved in the accident were also hospitalized due to the impact.
An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
