Semi-Truck Accidents in Iowa
Every year, thousands of individuals are killed in semi-truck collisions in the United States. Commercial cars, which transport the most commodities and freight, pose a threat to private autos. People are more likely to die in passenger vehicle accidents than in semi-truck accidents, according to government accident data. As a result of these collisions on Iowa’s highways, several individuals have died or been injured.
Sharing the road with large semi-trucks and tractor-trailers is inherently dangerous. This is why many Iowa drivers have intense feelings of anxiety when traveling alongside an 18-wheeler or commercial truck. Thousands of people are killed each year in crashes involving commercial vehicles. The vast majority of these fatalities involve the occupants of passenger cars. All drivers on the road are required to follow the same rules. However, operating a massive big rig requires much more skill and experience. Truck drivers who lack the necessary expertise to drive these trucks are at risk of causing catastrophic trucking accidents. These crashes far too often impact innocent victims.
The weight and size of these massive vehicles mean that they can cause life-changing injuries in the event of a crash. Trucking fatalities have continued to rise across the country. At Lombardi Law Firm, we know that the injuries resulting from a semi-truck accident often require long-term treatment and can leave victims with life-long mental and physical trauma.
