Linn Co, IA – UPDATE: Robert Newlin-Smith Charges in DUI Crash on IA-13
Linn Co, IA (July 1, 2021) – A man has been charged in connection with a crash resulting in multiple injuries on Tuesday, June 29, in Linn County.
Local sources revealed that the incident occurred on IA-13 near County Home Road at around 6 p.m. that evening. According to officials, 26-year-old Robert Newlin-Smith of Platteville, Colorado was traveling through the intersection when he failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle. Newlin-Smith consequently crashed into a minivan operated by 35-year-old Krystl Verrengia of Mount Vernon.
Both Newlin-Smith and Verrengia were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Two passengers in the minivan were also hospitalized. Newlin-Smith is currently facing multiple traffic-related charges.
