Ireton, IA – Janice Reinking Injured by FedEx Truck at 470th St & Dove Ave
Ireton, IA (May 28, 2021) – On Wednesday, May 26, a woman was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident in Ireton.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred at around 9:50 a.m. near the intersection of 470th Street and Dove Avenue. Initial reports indicated that 26-year-old Jordan Green of Sioux City was operating a 2019 FedEx van while traveling westbound on 470th Street. At the same time, 58-year-old Janice Reinking was also headed west in a 2010 Toyota.
Local sources revealed that Green attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection at the time of impact. Reinking’s vehicle was approaching the FedEx van when she changed lanes in order to pass it. It was then that Green implemented the turn, causing Reinking to crash into the side of the van.
Reinking was transported to Hawarden Regional Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Green was charged by authorities for making an unsafe turn and failure to use a turn signal.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
